Purcell McQuillan Tax Partners is celebrating 21 years in Business.  The firm has a team of 20 highly experienced tax professionals, who are experts in all areas of taxation and advise on all tax related transactions.

Our clients are drawn from the entire business spectrum and include large Irish and International corporates, family-owned businesses, professional partnerships, medical consultancy, high net worth individuals and business executives.  We also provide specialist tax advice to clients of accountancy and legal firms.

We are seeking to recruit a tax professional.  The role will suit somebody seeking to develop their career in tax and business generally.

The Role:

• Meeting key clients on a regular basis.
• Drafting client advice letters/ memos with assistance of tax director.  Recent examples include:
  • advising on the tax reliefs available to a client when passing on the family business to the next generation,
  • advising on the tax implications of moving residence,
  • advising a client on the tax reliefs available to her on the sale of her business,
  • tax due diligence.
• Liaising with the client and Revenue in respect of Revenue Interventions – recent queries include domicile levy, connected party transactions and CGT valuations on share transfers.
• Representing clients on appeals to TAC.
• Research of complex taxation matters over all tax heads.
• Preparation and/or review of tax computations and income tax returns to ensure compliance with corporate and personal tax filing deadlines.   
• Supervising tax trainees.
• Participating in internal weekly training sessions.

The Person:

• Qualified CTA and ideally a professional accountancy qualification.
• At least 1-2 years post qualification with specific tax experience in either personal tax or corporate tax.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and be organised to meet deadlines.
• Ability to interpret tax legislation.
